Only 42 more to go...seriously

Applique Blocks, originally uploaded by Ponies & Sugar Cookies.

Yay! I finished the first "wave" of orders and I am now onto my "block" orders. Some will be going to the wonderful Mahar Dry Goods and some will be going to the fabulous Lily and Agathe.
I can’t tell you all how much fun this are to do...a ton of work but SO worth it!
I feel like lately all I have been doing is pitching my work here...I promise I can be an interesting and funny person who had other things to talk about than my work(but it’s SO much fun!). I swear I will try to hold of on the crafty-news for a bit of at least start adding in other tidbits about my daily (er…weekly) life.

You mean I have the WHOLE day?

Hello chickadees!

I'm having a sale...come see if there are any goodies you might want. They are all on page 2 of the shop!

My goodness that was a LOOONG break.

I think I may be pretty spotty about posting the next few weeks as I have a lot of orders to do and wholesale and otherwise, oh my!OH and there is also a HUGE party I'm planning on Friday for a friend of the family who is getting deployed to Kosovo. So awful...we know two people who are going.I know how hard it is going to be for them. My David just got back from Iraq almost a year ago. All that plus I am working with two other great artists to get ready for SURTEX this spring, a textile designers coming out party if you will.

So in light of all the work I have David(on his day off from the hospital) opted to take Gabe to Grammie's house for the day so I could get loads of work done. So what am I doing? Reading blogs in sweet, sweet silence and posting on mine.

Well the guilt (and work) is piling up and I must run...coffe awaits!

Already sold!?

Horrah! I finnished the blocks last week and I saw them up at Robert's today and guess what they are already sold! In one day!
Now I'm off to make more for Robert and maybe some other people too!

I came home to find out that my designs were featured on the Etsy treasury list(thank you Trina!) and just from that post I have gotten so much traffic through my shop with items selling and a bunch of custom order paintings, cards and shirts to do and a BIG wholesale order for Onesies and T's! I'm practically hyperventilating with excitement as well as freaking out over all the work I have in front of me! AHHH it's too wonderful!

Nothing like a weekend in Maine....

Goodness, I didn't mean to take such a blogging break but I have been SO busy moving all my stuff to my new "studio". Pictures coming soon.

The fam went up to Maine this weekend (more like Fri-Mon) and thoughly enjoyed apple and pumpkin picking, sitting by the fire and as well as my beloved Fyeburg fair...I have this huge love for animals and the goats are my absolute favorite. I have had a crush on goats ever since I got one( oh heidi I miss you so) to keep my horse company way back when I was in high school. Unfortunatly both had to go to new homes as livestock are not allowed in dorm rooms after 10pm.

Someday I'll have my own little herd of goats and goat babies as well as horses and chickens of course!

p.s. that cute hat Gabe is wearing is from this wonderful Etsy shop!

ever feel like this?

I must admit I am very new to all this blog stuff but do any of you ever wonder who your writing too? I mean sometimes I feel like maybe I'm not so interesting enough to write to other people about my life. I wonder if what I say matters or if anyone is accually reading. Hmmm...feeling a bit low today is all.
I don't have much time to post anything spectacular and mind-blowing. I'll just leave you all with a little sweetness courtesy of Gabe.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hedgie love...

mrs.Tiggywinkle, originally uploaded by Ponies & Sugar Cookies.

In lieu of all the hedgie wonderfulness I have see out there lately I thought I would post this "police report" about a hedgie I used to know and love:

Subject was last seen in '84 near the basement playroom. She was suspected of hiding out in the attic for some time, but we have new information that she is resisting cuddles in the butternut squash patch. She is showing signs of scuffles with the locals. Subject is missing a hand and is favoring it's right foot from bouts with some nasty moths. Subject is without clothing except for a bonnet and is suspected to be in need of love . Once apprehended she is to serve time in the washing machine

Meet Fauna!

This is the third "stuffie" I have ever made. From a pattern I made up in my head. You see I am a self-taught sewer and I just go and do things how I think they ought to be done, I rarely follow directions and plow right into something. That usually irritated my mother when I was little. The other two stuffies were little starfish with embroidered features, cute and veeeery simple. I thought I would take it up a notch (be it a small notch).

I am in the process of making a friend for her and hopefully I will post them both in the shop. I have a feeling I might get reeeeally into this.

Don't get me wrong I love painting and sewing onesies and t-shirts...But this is something new and super fun!
I hope you all like!
